Admission Coordination

Arrival + Orientation

Paying for Treatment
The cost of treatment at Lifeskills is based on length of stay and level of care. Unlike most programs, Lifeskills offers individualized, open-ended stays within a step-down model, with ongoing, coordinated clinical communication throughout. Medicare and Medicaid are not accepted.
Many clients combine private pay with out-of-network insurance benefits to cover the cost of treatment. The admissions team will walk you through out-of-pocket expenses and out-of-network benefits before admission.

The Marchman Act, Baker Act, + Legal Guardianship
Advocating for a loved one is one of the most difficult decisions a family can face. The Marchman Act, Baker Act, and legal guardianship each provide a legal pathway to safety and stabilization for individuals who are unable or unwilling to seek treatment on their own.
The Marchman Act allows families to petition for involuntary substance use disorder assessment and treatment in Florida. The Baker Act provides a mechanism for involuntary psychiatric evaluation when an individual poses a risk to themselves or others. Legal guardianship may be appropriate in cases where a loved one is unable to make informed decisions about their own care.
The Lifeskills admissions team is available to help families understand these options and navigate next steps.
